Whats going on

January 21st, 2009

Not alot.

I’ve been absent from making any posts for a while for a very good reason, some of you may remember that all the way back in December, I was ment to go into hospital to have ANOTHER pildnomial sinus removed (well fixed up, the last opp MADE this one).
That operation got cancled, so I went in roughly two days after my last post.

Whats made this time so special? Well the way its being dressed for one. The last two, they were filled with Keltestat each day, with a typical wound dressing over it.
Now, this one is 12cm long, 4cm deep, and 3cm accross. Obviously Keltestat isn’t going to work, so I have attached to my arse: a vac-dressing.g
Basicly the wound cavity is filled with a medicated sponge, and the whole area is made air-tight, a cut is made in the plastic dressing, and a vacume hose attached (a special designed one where the hose is about the same size/width as a fuel hose on a typical edge trimmer).

Brilliant, heals quick (no 6 months of healing here), but it is VERY fragile, sitting can/will break the airtight seel.
Just living with it can be painfull, for the first two weeks, I was basicly living on Endone tablets (basicly Morphine). Each time the dressing is change, and the sponge replaced (2 times a week minimu), it feels like a whole section of my back is being ripped off.
And don’t even get me started on when the vacume gets turned on, initialy it is THE worst pain I have ever felt.

Seeing the doctors again next Wednesday, hopefuly the wound will be small enough I’ll be on Keltestat, which means I can FINALY go back to work.
Strange as it is, I’m missing the place :(

IceMat

January 4th, 2009

I bought yet another mousepad.

Now, before you start on how much money I waste on these things, bare with me, I got a bargin, I could not in good concious refuse unless my bank balance read $0!!!

I bought myself an IceMat v2, a black one.

Now, let me explain, IceMat went under sometime last year after they were bought out by SteelSeries. Before they were bought out, IceMat had released The IceMat v1, IceMat v2, and IceMat Syberia headphones. Now, the V1 was the first glass mousepad to be released, and at the time the company went under, they could be had for around $60, the V2 has been $75 everywhere you look, and the SteelSeries I2 (which is the V2 with the SteelSeries logo on it) was the same (look here http://www.steelseries.com/int/products/surfaces/i-2).

Now, I’ve wanted a V2 for a while, but fuck if I’ll pay $75 for a mousepad. I walked into JB, and they have, the red, white and black IceMat V2 (not the SteelSeries re-bags) for $10!!!

How could I not?!

So I’ve been playing in pure awesome and comfort on my new IceMat V2.

Props goes to Rachel for spotting the price, I had just seen ‘em and though they were still $75!

So yeh, if you want a glass mousepad, a $75 worth one, run down to your local JB-Hifi and see if they have any in stock!

Was awesome.

Combination of a quiet night, and watching some awesome fireworks.

Got the second xbox360 guitar for Guitar Hero off of Nick during the day, which proved difficult since he was sick, turned up there and hes got pants on with a beenie in 25*+ weather, so had to assemble the guitar before taking it my self :(

So the start of the night was mostly spent playing Guitar Hero World Tour with Dad, me on Guitar and him on base, before Rachel and Caitlyn decided to join in, so Caitlyn went on guitar, Rachel on base, me on drums, and Dad on vocals.

GHWT is defintly one of the best games I’ve played this year, its suck a good party game to work through with, and now the drums are working properly (well sorta, still requir tuning).
I will shamefully say that I really get into the beat of the songs when on the drums… maybe a little too much.

After all of this, we went outside to watch people set off fireworks pre-maturly, before the big bangs happened at midnight. I wont say how I know the names of these specific things going off… but..

There were 3 “smoke bombs” setoff around carrum, filling the sky with awesome red and purple smoke, there where tones of basic single and six shots going off, with quite a few 50 shot short-life flairs, as well as a few long-life flair fireworks.
The “Artilery” going off down near Seaford beach was visible from the backyard, and was truly awesome. Wish I knew where to get ‘em from.

Oh, and there where some boys from the flats down from us, they had a bunch of roman candles, and six-shot rockets that they let off in launch way, was truly awesome to watch.

Happy New Year everyone, hope its a good one for ya!
